Obituary for Phillip W Troke

Phillip W. Troke, 71, of Eastlake, passed away July 11, 2022, at Regency Hospital-East after a short but brave battle with pulmonary fibrosis induced by heart medication.
He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., to the late William and Antonia Troke, but lived the majority of his life in the greater Cleveland area. He had lived at his wooded oasis in Eastlake for over 50 years at the time of his passing.
He was a proud union member and had retired from Momentive Performance Materials in Willoughby.
Phil was an avid cyclist in his younger years and completed many century rides. He was a talented gardener and botanist and used hydroponics for his extra special plants. He was a bibliophile and cinemaphile and had an extensive collection of movies and books that he quoted often. Phil also loved watching and re-watching episodes of Seinfeld, Arrested Development, The Sopranos, The Twilight Zone, and many other classic TV shows. He played acoustic guitar and was a lover of most genres of music. His mix tapes and music compilations were epic. He had a knack for storytelling and a colorful vocabulary few others share.
Phil is survived by his daughter, Roxanne O’Brien Troke (Neil Beauregard); ex-wife, Peggy O’Brien; and countless deer, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons that he fed daily in his yard.
Per his request, there will be no services.
To honor his memory, please make a donation to PETA, spend time in nature and enjoy a cold one, make a crank call to a local classic rock station, or read a Kurt Vonnegut novel.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
