Obituary for Nora Fay Dominish

Nora Fay Dominish, age 79, of Grand River, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022.
She was born May 7, 1942, in Red Creek, W.Va.
Nora is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gary Dominish Sr.; children, Robert (Lanie) Dominish, Kimberly (Charlie) Housholder, Erik Dominish, and Gary (Amy) Dominish Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Relanie (Jim) Cudo, Christopher Chavez, Sean (Annalyn) Dominish, Jacquelyn (Tom) Advey, Robert (Ashley) Myers, Chris (Megan) Housholder, Chelsea (Brett) Ungvari, Ryan Dominish, Jaret Dominish, Johnny Dominish, and Baylee Hutchison; five great-grandchildren, Eden, Tommy, Charley, Nora, and Sawyer, and another one on his/her way; two sisters, Wanda Vantilburg and Charlotte Cook; and a number of other loving relatives, close friends, and her special dog and companion, Mitzie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Roy and Velma Richey.
Nora graduated from Mentor High School in 1960. She married her husband, Gary in 1964, and then went on to become a loving mother and homemaker. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family. She collected a large library of cookbooks and enjoyed reading through them and trying new recipes. Nora loved gardening and shopping. She also loved to watch real life mysteries, and Wheel of Fortune. She prided herself in solving the word puzzles before the contestants did. A real sports fan, Nora enjoyed football, baseball, and basketball games. She and Gary spent many winters as snowbirds, migrating to Florida, but one of her greatest delights were her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy!
A highlight of Nora’s life is when she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1984. As such, she took pleasure in reading and studying the Bible, and sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with anyone she could.
A virtual online memorial service celebrating her life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022. Please contact the family for the details on how to join.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
