Obituary for Naomi Josephine Skotniski

Naomi Josephine (nee Sharpless) Skotniski, of Willowick, passed away Sunday Oct. 15, 2023, at Legacy of Willoughby surrounded by her loved ones.
Born May 16, 1932, in Vindex, Md., she had been a resident of Willowick for 46 years.
Naomi moved from Maryland to Cleveland in 1959, and finally settled into her home in Willowick. She was a homemaker, who raised her four children and deeply cared and loved her family. She enjoyed the many days spent as a member of the Willowick Senior Center, where she had several friends and enjoyed playing bingo. Naomi also leaves behind longtime friend and family by heart, Vivian Whitaker and her daughter, Linda Brath. She had a passion for gardening and working puzzles.
She was the loving mother of Janie Melie (Dale) Sunderlin, Richard David (Kim) Skotniski and Penny J. (Dennis) Campbell; cherished grandmother of Richard Joseph (Kylie) Skotniski, Brian J. Campbell, Kenneth David (Samantha) Skotniski, Stacey Sekanic and Dennis Thayer Campbell; great-grandmother of Camden Franklin Skotniski, Elle Victoria Skotniski, Charlotte Rose Skotniski and Memphis Rae Skotniski; dear sister of William K. “Buck” Sharpless; and aunt of many.
Naomi was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph V. Skotniski Jr.; Son, Joseph V. Skotniski III; daughter-in-law, Cathy Skotniski; parents, William McKinley and Frances Melie (nee Paugh) Sharpless; and siblings, Emma Jane Paugh, Dorothy Edith Harvey and Richard J. Sharpless.
Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, MD 21538, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Swanton, Md.
