Obituary for Mildred Thompson
Mildred (nee Burks) Thompson, age 87, passed away Feb. 22, 2021.
She was born May 28, 1933, in Kimball, W.Va., to the late George K. and Ethel (nee Milam) Burks.
Mildred was a resident of Northeast Ohio for over 30 years and grew up in West Virginia. She spent most of her life in the beautiful Appalachia region of West Virginia and Virginia, which she loved.
Mildred is survived by her loving daughter, Linda C. (James J.) Locastro; granddaughters, Kristen Locastro and Gina Locastro (Tanya Gustafson) of Northeast Ohio; sister, Patricia (Neil) Davis; brother, Jimmy (Gail) Burks of West Virginia; and dearest brother-in-law, Paul (Dolores, dec.) Thompson of Virginia. She was the loving aunt of 29 nieces and nephews; and a cherished friend to many in Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Milton Thompson, whom she married in 1951.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of (McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby.
