Obituary for Michael J Futchi
Funeral Mass for Michael J. Futchi, 82, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Michael passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Aug. 13, 1938, in Aurora, Minn., he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 48 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Germany and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor. Michael was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed golf, gambling and going to casinos.
Mr. Futchi had retired from Reliance Electric after 35 years of service.
Michael was the beloved husband of 54 years to Florence A. (nee Severino) Futchi; loving father of Michael R. (Jennifer) Futchi and Michelle L. (John) Eallonardo; grandfather of Isabella, Michael, Norman, Maxwell and Sophia; brother of William (Karyn) Futchi and Lonnie (Mary) Futchi; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael C. and Matilda H. (nee Putzel) Futchi.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
