Funeral Mass for Mary Louise (nee Holzmer) Then, 91, of Willowick, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.) Fr. Tom Johns will officiate.
Mary Lou passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Saybrook Landing in Ashtabula, after a courageous fight with Covid-19.
She was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Cleveland.
She was an original member of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick, where she was also a member of the Sacred Heart Circle. Mary Lou loved gardening and growing roses in her garden.
She was the loving mother of Tim (Cindy) Then, Terry (Julie) Then, Tom (Chris) Then and Laura (Rodney) Daugherty; cherished grandmother of Jason (Jessie) Then, Tony Then, Tara (Tim) Trepal, Tracy (Nick) Hanshaw and Zachary Daugherty; great-grandmother of Aris Then and Hudson Hanshaw; sister of Joni Holzmer of Florida; and aunt to many.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert C. Then Jr. in 2017; parents, Mathew and Myrtle (nee Dickerson) Holzmer; and sister, Doris (Ben, dec.) Sawyer.
Burial will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
