Obituary for Mary Lesar
Funeral Mass for Mary (nee Obreza) Lesar, 93, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Father Tim Plavac will officiate. (Family and friends are asked to meet at church.)
Mary passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at her residence.
Born Dec. 11, 1927, in Cleveland, she has been a resident of Lake County for more than 55 years, living in Eastlake and Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Mary spent her life caring for others. She had worked as an RN for 38 years. Many of those years were spent in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. After retirement, she volunteered at Hospice, Project Hope for the Homeless and Helping Hands at St. Bede the Venerable Church. She was also an avid reader and loved to travel.
She was the loving mother of John E. Lesar, Susan M. (Jack) Lavery, David M. Lesar, Robert (Sandy) Lesar and Lara M. (Terry) Scott; cherished grandmother of Sara, Kristen, Ryan, Victoria, Olivia, Ava and Tori; and great-grandmother of Landon, Beckham, Molly and Isabelle.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Lesar; parents, John and Olga (nee Kragal) Obreza; and brother, Fred (Marie, dec.) Obreza.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at church prior to the Mass. Private burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
The family suggests contributions in her name be made to St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
