Obituary for Mary Jo Keener

Mary Jo (nee Barker) Keener, 77, peacefully joined her Lord Monday, Sept. 14, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Mary Margrite (nee Haught) Barker, and Carl Victor Baker. Born in Dola, W.Va., she was raised in Lumberport, W.Va., and spent much of her life in Northeast Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. “Wade” Keener Sr.; brother, George Daniel “Danny” Barker; and loving companion, Daniel J. Oster.
Survivors are her three children, Edward W. (Elizabeth) Keener Jr., William D. Keener (Laura Copeland), and Jill Oster (Kevin LaForce); sister-in-law, Connie; two grandchildren, Tomas Nielen and Stephanie Leija; two-great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews; and best friend, Betty Swiger.
Mary Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed the peace and quiet of retired country living, and loved taking care of others, especially her fur babies. She also enjoyed reading, colorful flowers, butterflies, and visits with her girls back home.
Private graveside services will be held at Lions Club Cemetery in Lumberport, W.Va.
The family suggests contributions in her name to the American Lung Association, 6100 Rockside Rd., Independence, OH 44131.
