Obituary for Mary Therese Gibbons
Funeral Mass for Mary Therese (nee Reilly) Gibbons, 78, of Cleveland, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church, West Park, 4427 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Mary passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.
Born Sept. 20, 1942, in Cleveland, she had been a lifetime resident of Cuyahoga County.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Church West Park, where she was former President of the 300 Club. She was also a member of the West Side Irish American Club, Irish American Club East Side, Inc., and Ladies Guild of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
She was the loving mother of Sean P. (Maureen) Gibbons, Sheila G. (Jeffrey) Quinn, and Mary K. (Jim) O’Malley; cherished grandmother of Seamus, Kaitlyn, and Grace Gibbons, Connor and Clare Quinn, Maura and Tommy O’Malley; sister of Peter Reilly and Eileen (Gary) Gall; sister-in-law of Jerry Rich; a loving aunt and friend of many.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry A. Gibbons; parents, Peter and Katherine (nee Coyne) Reilly; and sister, Katherine “Kay” Rich.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland.
