Obituary for Mary Ann "Ma" Allen

Mary Ann “Ma” (nee Broden) Allen, 87, of Meadville, Pa., passed away April 15, 2021, in Meadville.
Born Oct. 10, 1933, in Ashtabula, she had lived in Lake County before moving to Meadville, Pa., in 2000.
Mary Ann had attended Willoughby Union High School, where she was named Homecoming Queen and was a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan. Dancing was her passion and she loved her family dearly. She was also very proud to have graduated from the Senior Scholars Program at Wesbury Retirement Home and was known as “Ma” Allen to many.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wesbury for the loving care that they provided to their mother.
She was the loving mother of R. Michael (Kelly) Allen, Joy (Mark) Sherry, and David Allen; mother-in-law of Linda Allen; cherished grandmother of 16; great-grandmother of 17; and dear sister of Margaret Hay.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her dearest children, Victoria (Max, dec.) Huebner, Daniel Allen and Mitchell Allen; and parents, Edward P. and Margaret W. (nee Weber) Broden.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, where a prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
