Obituary for Marilyn Jean Showalter

Marilyn Jean (nee Winger) Showalter, 76, of Mentor, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at Heartland of Willoughby.
Born Jan. 27, 1944, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for 13 years.
Marilyn loved her grandchildren, Elvis, her dogs, and was a mother figure to many. She also enjoyed margaritas and hanging out with her friends.
She was the loving mother of Monica J. (John) Nardy of Willowick and Michelle J. (David) Baur of Mentor; cherished grandmother of Kristofer Brisar, Nickolas Brisar, Joshua Brisar, Lynsey Nardy, Daniel Baur, Austyn Baur and KatyAnn Baur; great-grandmother of Kaylee and Johnathan; sister of Lisa Thompson and Benita Beck; and aunt of many.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Charles Showalter; parents, Daniel and Mildred Winger, and Winifred (nee Decker) Benedict; and brother, Daniel Winger Jr.
Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
