Obituary for Kathleen A Iliff

Kathleen A. (nee Weidig) Iliff, 76, of Eastlake passed away April 18, 2023, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
She was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Conneaut, to William A. Weidig and Ireta V. Weidig, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart of 54 years, Walter M. Iliff; three daughters, Michelle (Dale) Crowley, Melissa (John) Kerr, and Meredith (James) Velez; beloved grandchildren, Connor Crowley, Meghann Crowley, Savanna Kerr, and Kaylee Kerr; sister, Janet Erskine; and brother, Ken (Beth) Weidig.
Kathleen was an avid bowler, enjoyed knitting, and loved watching her favorite sports team, the Cleveland Guardians. She was a loving wife, mother, and devoted Mimi, who above all else, loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Kathleen became an avid Lifebanc volunteer after receiving a heart transplant in December of 1989 and a kidney transplant in January of 2001, where she promoted organ, eye, and tissue donation through presentations at northeastern Ohio high schools. She was a member of the Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO), and also participated in numerous Gift of Life Walks. Kathleen also competed with the Team Ohio 4 Life organization at the Transplant Games of America four times. Kathleen’s life was radiant and she made the most of the additional time she was given after her heart transplant. This second chance allowed her to do what so few others can do, actually share two hearts’ worth of love.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Grace Episcopal Church, 36200 Ridge Rd., Willoughby, followed by a service at 12 p.m. Internment will take place after the service in Grace Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to Lifebanc and Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
