Obituary for Karl Edward Brenner

Memorial services for Karl Edward Brenner, 81, of Mentor, will be 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Fr. Peter Morris will officiate.
Mr. Brenner passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born Jan. 5, 1936, in Painesville, he had been a lifetime resident of Lake County.
Karl was a U.S. Army veteran and loved sports and coaching. He also enjoyed travel, liked to shoot pool and was a fantastic dad and grandfather.
Karl was the beloved husband of 57 years to Carol J. (nee Fark) Brenner; loving father of Debbie A. Brenner of Highland Heights and Jennifer A. (Jason) Knaus of Kirtland; cherished grandfather of Aiden and Audrey; father-in-law of Ken Bowling; brother-in-law of Florence Brenner; and uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Bowling; parents, John Robert and Mabel Vera (nee Gonser) Brenner; and siblings, Thomas, William, Robert, John, James, Alice Gillespie, Dorothey Brenner and Mary Crossen.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karl’s name may be made to the Mentor Senior Center, 8484 Munson Road, Mentor, OH 44060.
