Obituary for Karen J Strasser

Karen J. (nee Nelson) Strasser, (also known as Orion’s “Neena”), 75, fell asleep in death suddenly at her home in Eastlake, Jan. 19, 2021, where she has been a longtime resident along with her granddaughter, Erika, and great-grandson, Orion.
Karen is survived by her children, JoAnne (Jim) Ziemak, Ken (Tammy) Strasser, and Elizabeth Starcher, her sister; Connee (Gene) Miller grandchildren; Erika (Orion), George, Collan, Sierra, Dominic, Macayla, Celeste, Sine’, Karen; many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren; and her guinea pig, Snowball. She also leaves behind her best friend and second family, Linda (Jim) Peck, Dave (Kydi), Laura, Tyler, and Lauren, whom she loved so, so very much.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ken; grandson, Dalton; great-granddaughter, Jolee; parents, Russell and Betty; along with her precious dogs that have always been, part of her family.
Karen has been a faithful Jehovah’s Witness for 49 years, being a longtime member of the Willoughby Congregation and currently a member of the Grand River Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She will be missed by so many and is remembered for her love for Jehovah, her family, her sisters, and brothers in faith, her many pets, birds, and her beloved Elk herd in Pennsylvania.
Karen has always been comforted by knowing that she will see Ken again and we also take comfort in knowing we will see them both again.
At Karen’s request, there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for Erika and Orion and sent to: Erika Nutter, c/o Gail Sterle, 132 Courtland Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095. The family also suggests planting a tree somewhere in Karen’s name.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
