Obituary for Joseph M "Joe" Scarcelli

Funeral Mass for Joseph M. “Joe” Scarcelli, 68, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Father Tom Elsasser will officiate. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Joseph passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at Grand River Health and Rehab in Painesville of kidney disease.
Born April 10, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for 40 years.
Joseph was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor. He was a big History buff, enjoying long hours of Trivial Pursuit. He was also a fan of all the local sports teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers, golf, music and politics.
Joe had been employed as an EMT for years, along with working in healthcare until his disability.
He is survived by his dear brothers, John (Kristen), and Anthony (Lynne); sister-in-law, Claudia Scarcelli; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years, Debra (nee Drumm); beloved son, Jason; parents, Joseph and Rose (nee Furko); and brothers, Ross and James (Janet, dec.).
Burial will be on All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
