Obituary for Joseph N "Joe" Mastropietro

Joseph N. “Joe” Mastropietro, 74 of Concord Township, passed away Jan. 16, 2021, with his family by his side.
Joe was born in Cercepiccola, Campobasso, Italy to the late Alfonso and Maria (D'Amico) Mastropietro. Joe moved to the United States as a young boy, joined the United States Army, and served proudly in the Vietnam War.
Joe was a hair stylist for many years and owner of JJ and Company in Willoughby Hills. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, holidays with his big Italian family, and he was a classic car enthusiast. The greatest of all of his accomplishments was his family.
Joe was the loving father of Neil (Angela), Michael (Ashley), Mathew, and Gabriella; devoted grandfather of Olivia, Carmen, Carmella, Gianna, and Mikey; dearest brother to Sue (husband, Donato) LaVigna, Frank (wife, Rita) Mastropietro, and Chris (husband, Bruce) Vanderchries; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved pup, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his dearest sister, Adriana (husband, Joe) Cozza; and dearest nieces, Mary Bando and Rose Mary Baldwin.
The family would like to thank Geauga Hospital for their compassionate care until the very end.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests donations can be made in care of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
