Funeral Mass for Joseph G. Dominick, 70, of Mentor, will be 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 10, at St., Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township.
Joe passed away Sept. 2, 2022, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
He was born June 22, 1952, in Cleveland.
Joe attended Euclid and Wickliffe High Schools. Joe worked as a housing inspector for the City of Euclid and as Service Director and Chief Housing Inspector for the City of Willowick from where he retired in 2016. He was Commissioner of the Euclid Boys League, founder of the Euclid Flag Football League, and founder of the Panther Youth Wrestling Club. He enjoyed watching his boys wrestle and play football and attending his daughter’s theatrical shows. Joe loved his family, his “girls” Ruby and Lily, his garden, going to the gun range and watching old reruns. He could fix nearly anything. Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, Papa, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue (nee Rucker) Dominick; children, Jodi, Mike and Steve (Linnea); grandchildren, Jordan, Guy, Astrid and Joey; in-laws, Karen and Bob Shipley, Debbie and Ron Hopkins, Lou Bellante; nephews, Guy (Brenda) Lyon and Sean Hopkins; and nieces, Kim (Ralph) Studer, Carleen (Dan) Stumpf, Alexandrea Rucker and Morgan Hopkins.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Viola (nee Luciano) Dominick; and sisters, Lucille Bellante and Nancy Kasunic.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby.
