Obituary for John J Prochaska Jr.
John J. Prochaska Jr., 48, entered into the arms of His Savior peacefully in his sleep Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, at his home in Gates Mills.
He was born Feb. 15, 1972, in Wickliffe.
John spent his career in industrial sales and was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially rooting for the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved watching and coaching his sons in sports and served as past commissioner of the Great Lakes Youth Football League. John loved to make his friends and family laugh.
He had a deep appreciation for Lutheran theology, but his greatest joy in life was his four boys, Samuel, Jonathan “Jack,” Matthew, and James. John is also survived by his wife, Kristyn (nee Vernick); parents, Dennis and Connie (nee Varketta) Concoby of Painesville, and John J. Prochaska Sr. of Harrison Township, Mich.; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will greet friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Willoughby. The Rev. Adam Sorenson will officiate. Private burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland.
Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to Trinity Lutheran Church, 37728 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, OH 44094.
