Obituary for Joanne T Pickett
Funeral Mass for Joanne T. (nee Baltus) Pickett, 79, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Fr. Tim Plavac will officiate.
Joanne passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at her residence.
Born March 7, 1941, in Cleveland, she had been a lifetime Lake County resident.
She was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor, where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister, former PSR teacher and pre-Baptism teacher. She was also a member of the S.N.P.J. Joanne was the proud owner of a 1966 Ford Galaxy, loved going to car shows with her husband, Matt and going to Annabelle’s in Mentor every weekend.
Joanne was the beloved wife of 54 years to Matthew J. Pickett; loving mother of Matthew J. (Carrie) Pickett Jr.; step-grandmother of Shelsea, Allison and Colin; step-great-grandmother of Haydin and Rayne; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Josephine (nee Petrovic) Baltus; and sister, Lenore Schwab-Hale.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
