Obituary for Joanne Orozco

Funeral Mass for Joanne Orozco, will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the wearing of masks and social distancing will be observed. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Joanne passed away Feb. 19, 2021, at Grand River Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 3, 1950, in Cleveland.
Joanne was a proud graduate of Shaw High School and Tri-C Community College. She retired from The Cleveland Clinic Foundation after 43 years working as a state certified lab technician.
She enjoyed traveling, reading and watching old movies and old TV shows, but mostly enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephew. Joanne was a member of St. John Vianney Church and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, an active member of the Mentor Senior Center, and had served for many years on the reunion committee for her high school class.
Joanne is survived by her mother, Lillian (nee Farinacci) Orozco; sisters, Susan (Anthony) Gaglione and Elizabeth Dawson; nieces, Gina (Tony Jr.) Verch, Melissa Dawson (Derek Maynard), and Maria Gaglione (Michael Robinson); nephew, Craig (Valerie) Dawson of Loveland, Colo.; great-nephew and great-niece, Cormac and Cordelia Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her father, William P. Orozco.
The family wishes to send special thanks to the Grand River Nursing Facility and Hospice of the Western Reserve for the wonderful care and loved extended to Joanne during her illness.
Entombment will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
