Obituary for James W Young

James W. Young, 80, of Painesville Township, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at his residence.
Born July 25, 1941, in Cleveland, he had resided in Mentor for 50 years, then moved to North Ridgeville in 2015, before returning to Lake County in 2021.
James was U.S. Air Force veteran, Past Master of Temple Lodge 28 F&AM, was awarded the Meritorious Service Award from the AASR Valley of Cleveland, Past Monarch of Caliph Grotto, Willoughby Royal Chapter Royal Arch Masons, life member of the NRA, and a member of the Lake Erie Amateur Radio Association and Lake Amateur Radio Association with call sign KB8PED then WJ8IM.
Mr. Young retired from Huron Road Hospital, where he worked as a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer, served many years as a stage hand at the Cleveland Masonic Auditorium, was Santa on the North Pole Express Cuyahoga Valley Railroad for many years, and was videographer and proprietor of Videomotion.
James was the loving husband of Vickie (nee Dawson) Young; loving father of James (Dianne) Young of Willoughby, Daniel Young of Newnan, Ga., Patrick (Tami) Young of Bonney Lake, Wash., Robert (Annette) Young of Leroy Township, Ann Marie (Andy) Wilson of Ashtabula, Christopher (Megan) Hartley of Willoughby, Kenneth (Marji) Hartley of Willoughby, and Jennifer (nee Hartley) (Jason) Jares of Statesboro, Ga.; cherished grandfather of Nicole (Bob) Kutz, Kayliegh (Alex) Becker, Emily Pietrone, Patrick Whitney (Ashley Huaracha), Anthony Baratti, Michael (Jessica) Young, Duggan (Jessica) Young, Amy Rose (TJ) Booth, Alex Sass (Dan Clement), Julia Hartley, Michaela Hanley, Justin Jares, Jordan Jares, Jackson Jares, Jacob Jares, Isabella Pastrano and Tommy Kidd; great-grandfather of Lukkas Kutz, Cullen Kutz, Jensen Kutz, Grant Becker, Lennon Whitney, Ellie Buckler, Michael Young Jr., Emersyn Young, Tristian Booth, Nate Kuhen, Dixie Murphy, Skylar Murphy and Vinney Stimpich; uncle of Kelly (nee Tumbleson) (Scott) Hartman of Perry; and great-uncle of Allison Hartman and Faith Hartman. He also leaves his precious companion, “Duchess.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfrid and Lena (nee Timperio) Young; and grandson, Anthony Meade.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Masonic Service at 5:45 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life and Military Honors at 6 p.m.
