Obituary for Greta Goodyear
Greta (nee Leohr) Goodyear, 93, of Willoughby, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at her home.
Born Nov. 15, 1928, in Lodi, she had been a resident of Lake County for 42 years.
Greta was a longtime resident of Painesville before moving to Naples, Fla., for six years. She then moved to Troutville, Va., for seven years before returning to Willoughby. Aside from being a homemaker, she enjoyed her many travels around the world with her husband. Greta was a huge animal lover and regularly supported the World Wildlife Federation as well as the local Humane Society.
She was the loving mother of Jeffrey (Sherry, nee Penczak) Goodyear of North Port, Fla., and Mitchell (Linda, nee Hunter) Goodyear of Mentor; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Bell, Kelly Nevison and Alexander Goodyear; great-grandmother of Teddy, Kayla and Falicia Gould, Jayden and Jayce Rice; dear brother of William (Sue) Leohr; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Greta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard F. Goodyear; William and Selma (nee Winkler) Leohr; and brother, Alfred Leohr.
Graveside services will be held at Westfield Township Cemetery later this spring for immediate family only.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
