Obituary for George M "Joe" Zebkar

George M. “Joe” Zebkar, 78, of Wickliffe, passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Nov. 16, 1942, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 63 years.
Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran, and member of V.F.W. Post 1500 in Willoughby, the American Legion Post in Point Marion, Pa., and Eagles Aerie 2300 in Willoughby. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, spending time with his family around the “firepit,” and on vacations with his grandchildren. He also loved his Harley Road King motorcycle.
He was the beloved husband of Lee (nee Rusa) Zebkar; loving father of Lisa A.M. (Keith) Roberts and Christopher J. Zebkar; cherished grandfather of Liam, Hayden and Oliver; brother of Barbara A. Herringshaw; brother-in-law of Anthony Rittner; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his son, James L. Zebkar; grandson, Collin Boothe; parents, James L. and Anna (nee Torbich) Zebkar; sister, Cookie Rittner; and brother-in-law, James Herringshaw.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
