Obituary for George Weber

George Weber, 83, passed away Nov. 9, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Born Jan. 1, 1939, in Cleveland, he was the third of eight children born to the late Ludwig and Ann (nee Ott) Weber.
After graduating from Cathedral Latin High School in 1956, George entered the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he began working in the steel industry and held numerous roles as a trusted employee at Ametco Manufacturing for almost 40 years.
George was a big fan of Cleveland sports teams and was a kind, caring person who was helpful to many. Mostly though, he’ll be remembered for his incredible devotion to his wife Rene.
He was the loving father of Tom (Carolyn) and Jim (Kari); and cherished grandfather of Connor, Chris and Elliott; dearest brother of Elizabeth Fetsko, Edward (Cathy), Thomas (Carol), Virginia (Don) Chesnes, and Ludwig (Marjorie); and uncle of many nieces, nephews and friends who were a big part of his life.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rene (nee Scanlon); brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Janice; and brother-in-law, Daniel Fetsko.
A Celebration of George’s life will take place on what would have been his and Rene’s 56th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a brief service at 4 p.m. Casual dress is appropriate and guests are encouraged to be comfortable.
Although George did not have it, Alzheimer’s took his soulmate Rene from him so, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215.
