Obituary for Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Pagenstecher

“Together Again”
Funeral Mass for Dorothy Ann “Dottie” Pagenstecher of Mentor, will be
11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry. Father George Kusy will officiate.
Dottie passed away peacefully May 7, 2021, with her five children, and three generations of grandchildren by her side.
Born in Chicago in 1937, “Dottie” lived a charmed life and was the center of the Pagenstecher family.
“Dottie,” as she was affectionately called, was the daughter of Joe and Esther (nee Rigstead) Keckeisen. She had one older brother, Joe. Dottie met Clark while in high school and married him in 1957. They were married for 58 years until Clark’s death in 2015.
Dorothy was the devoted mother of Nancy (Frank), Mark (Laura), Scott (Dawn), Bryan (Rebecca), and Mike. She constantly went out of her way to make life happy for her children. She was a great cook and a devout Catholic, who made sure the whole family made it to Sunday morning Mass. Dottie enjoyed making each holiday a special occasion for the family. During the mid to late 1970s, Dorothy was the club champ at Tamarack Golf Club.
Eventually, Dottie and Clark were able to retire to Florida, where they spent 20 years in Sebastian. She enjoyed Bone fishing in the Keys and had several fishing expeditions there. Dottie will be most remembered for the love, generosity and positivity she passed on to all she knew. Her spirit lives on in her family and will for generations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; father, Joe (1979); and mother, Esther (1982); and brother, Joe.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194 (www.ALZ.org), or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
