Obituary for Donald Cobb

Funeral Mass for Donald Cobb, 67, of Mentor Headlands, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday August 2, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
Donnie passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, in his home with family at his side.
He was born Dec. 30, 1954, in Cleveland, and lived as a lifelong resident in Mentor Headlands.
Donnie was a member of the Don Bosco Knights of Columbus in Mentor, as well as a social member of Amvets Post 40. He was a softball coach for more than 10 years in the Mentor Headlands Softball League and loved by all the neighborhood kids he coached. He was also a “second dad” to most the kids in the neighborhood. Donnie loved poker and hosting poker games at his house. He enjoyed holidays with his family, but most of all he loved Halloween and Christmas. Donnie loved dancing and did so everywhere he went. He was known as the “fireworks guy” and put on a 4th of July fireworks show that put professional shows to shame.
Donnie was the owner of Top Hat Video II in the Headlands for many years and had recently retired as an autobody technician from DCR Systems.
Donnie was the beloved husband of 46 years to Marsha (nee Kurnot) Cobb; loving father of Donna (Christian) Rauh and Donnie (Kelly) Cobb; cherished grandfather of Lexi, Haley, Aiden, Ava, Kielyn, Brayden, and Raelyn; dear brother of Ronnie (Suzanna) Cobb, Terri Marie (Terry) Cramer, Paul Cobb Jr., and Bobb Cobb; uncle and great-uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul E. Sr. and Lorene (nee Scheuering) Cobb; and brother, William David Cobb.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm. Monday, August 1, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
