Donald L. Clason, 81, of Willoughby, passed away Feb. 15, 2021, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby. Don joined his wife of 54 years, Rev. Peggy Clason, who preceded him in 2017, and was the beloved husband of Elaine (nee Wiltshire) Clason.
Born April 23, 1939, Don spent his childhood in West Salem, Ohio before attending and graduating from Case Western Reserve University in 1961, with a B.S. in Chemistry. Don had been a resident of Mentor before moving to Willoughby.
Don was a retired research chemist from Lubrizol, where he had worked for 43 years and was issued multiple patents related to hydraulics. He was also a member of the ASTM International Committee on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants.
He was the loving father of Christine (Mark) Briede of Cincinnati and Eric (Victoria) Clason of Chagrin Falls; cherished grandfather of Lauren Briede, Nick Clason and Natalie Clason; and uncle of several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
