Obituary for David E Kelly
Funeral Mass for David E. Kelly, 69, of Mentor, will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Father Tom Johns will officiate the Mass.
Dave passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
Born Jan. 12, 1952, in Cleveland, he had lived in Euclid before moving to Lake County 49 years ago, living in Painesville before moving to Mentor.
Dave was a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor, where he was active in the Men’s Club. He was currently a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor and the Irish American Club-East Side Inc., in Euclid. Dave enjoyed people and was an Ambassador with the Cleveland Clinic, loved the Cleveland Browns and gardening, but most important to him was spending time with his grandchildren.
He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Patricia L. (nee Ledger) Kelly; loving father of Ryan J. (Natalie) Kelly; father-in-law of Kristen Kelly; cherished grandfather of Evan, Sean and Patrick; brother of Jerry Kelly, Danny (Chris) Kelly, Alice (Frank) Bungo, Katie (Tom) Smith, Jim (Dianne) Kelly and Lora Kelly; brother-in-law of Ron (Jill) Ledger and Becky (Jude) Dougherty, and Joan Kelly; uncle of nieces and nephews; and close friend of Rex Zeller.
Dave was preceded in death by his dear son, David P. Kelly; parents, Albert and Evelyn (nee Double) Kelly; brother, Mike Kelly; in-laws, Charles and Shirley Ledger; and sister-in-law, Maureen Kelly.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be private.
