Obituary for Daniel R Sweeney

Daniel R. Sweeney, 71, a lifelong resident of Butler County, Pa., passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon.
Born March 9, 1950, in Butler, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert A. and Alice C. (Herlinger) Sweeney.
Dan graduated from Butler High School in 1968. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who enjoyed driving the back roads of Pennsylvania looking for wildlife. His interests included old hot rods, cooking, crossword puzzles and antiques. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor and sunny outlook on life.
Mr. Sweeney retired from T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Company (Peoples Gas), where he had worked for more than 30 years.
Survivors are his three daughters, Lori (Richard) Bollas of Chardon, Amy (Donald) Geiger of Madison, and Allison Sweeney of Largo, Fla.; sister, Susan (Clayton) Beam of Butler, Pa.; four grandchildren, Amber Collins and Zoe Geiger, both of Madison, Hunter Stidham and Jase Stidman, both of Largo, Fla.; a niece, nephew and several cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Oliva (Elli Roman) Sweeney, who passed away Sept. 18, 2016.
In keeping with Dan’s wishes, no services will be held.
