Obituary for Coy LaForce

“Together Again”
Coy LaForce, 86, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born May 2, 1935, in Jonesville, Va., he had been a resident of Lake County for 70 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Coy was a U.S. Air Force veteran, member of the F.O.E. in Mentor, and AmVets Post 109 in Mentor. He enjoyed Florida and Las Vegas vacations with his late wife, Rita.
Mr. LaForce retired from Chase Brass and Copper Co., where had worked for 45 years.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve for the loving care shown to Coy and the support given to his family during this difficult time.
He was the loving father and best friend of Dawn Marie Dickinson; cherished grandfather of Racheal Ann (Nathanael) Kline; great-grandfather of Nathanael Mark, Nikolas Matthew, Michael Judson, Demetrius John and Simeon Gabriel; dear brother of Helen Faye Wilder and Betty Lou Catron; brother-in-law of Mildred Davis; special friend of Anthony Suhadolnik; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Coy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita M. (nee Thatcher) LaForce; daughter, Deidre Ann LaForce; parents, Samuel W. and Florence (nee Yates) LaForce; siblings, Thomas LaForce, William LaForce, Robert LaForce, Walter LaForce, Joyce Kinder and Mary Jane Roberts; and brother-in-law, Emerson Davis.
Family will receive friends are asked to meet for a graveside service 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor (Sec. 35; Lot 16; Gr. 4). Father Tom Johns will officiate the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
