Corinne Lee “Cory” (nee Geske) Barnett, 63, of Willoughby Hills, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 28, 1960, in Euclid, she had lived in Mayfield and Port Clinton before moving to Willoughby Hills seven years ago.
Cory was a 1978 graduate of Euclid High School had lived in Port Clinton for more than 20 years. Cory loved her family, was famous for her “city chicken,” and was an animal lover, especially her dogs, Lance and Robbie. She was a social butterfly, enjoyed flowers, and loved to host holiday gatherings. Cory also loved to take yearly trips to Put-in-Bay with her best friends, vacation with her sons every year, and sit poolside. She spent several years helping to care for her mother who passed away recently.
She had worked as the bar manager at the Island House in Port Clinton for a number of years, and upon moving back to the Cleveland area in 2000, she was a member and bar manager of the V.F.W. Post 4358 in Willoughby Hills.
Cory was the loving mother of Patrick (Lizz) Riedy, Anthony Riedy (Elizabeth Yurglic), and Joseph Riedy; cherished grandmother of Madison Riedy; dear sister of Christina Phillips (Jim Munson), and Derek (Kimberly) Geske; aunt of Christian Geske, Sean (Izzie) King and Stephen Conahan; and cousin of Stacy Stack, Chuck (Christine) Martin, James Stack, Nick Stack, Stephanie Martin, C.J. Martin, Kevin Picozzi and Dennis Picozzi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Barnett; parents, Walter C. and Patricia A. (nee Flaesgarten) Geske; and aunt, Carol (Chuck, dec.) Martin.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
