Obituary for Carmen J Rozzo

Funeral Mass for Carmen J. Rozzo, 89, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Carmen passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
He was born March 6, 1931, in Ashtabula.
Mr. Rozzo retired from the Mentor Board of Education in 1983, after teaching for 30 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 352. Carmen was a member of the Holy Name Men’s Club, an usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor and was also member of the Americans of Italian Heritage in Mentor.
Carmen was the beloved husband of Cynthia “Cindy” Louise (nee (Hoyes) Rozzo; loving father of Christine (Michael) Riley of Mentor, John Rozzo of Atlanta, Ga., Coletta Rozzo of Willoughby, Cynthia Haralabidis of Marietta, Ga., and Catherine Ross of Newton Square, Pa.; cherished grandfather of Sam, Spencer, Lee, Nikos, Eleni, Patrick and Christopher; and brother of Francis (Jan), Felix (Ann), and Virginia West.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Nellie (nee Guerrire) Rozzo; siblings, Joseph, Peter, John, Concetta, Lena and Anne; and brother-in-law, Jerry West.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
