Obituary for Carla A Heckman

“Together Again”
Funeral Mass for Carla A. (nee Biro) Heckman, 80, of Willowick, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Father Tom Johns will officiate.
Carla passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at Mount St. Joseph in Euclid.
Born Nov. 21, 1942, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for 52 years.
She was a 1961 graduate of Collinwood High School, a former member of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick, and a former member of the Irish American Club East Side, Inc. Carla was a wonderful cook who was deeply committed to her faith. She enjoyed shopping, reading and taking care of her houseplants, especially her orchids. She loved all animals and spending time with her family and grandsons.
Mrs. Heckman had worked at Sanymetal Products Co. In Cleveland and Euclid Mednet, from where she retired in 1992.
Carla was the loving mother of Kelly A. (Tom) Kunsman; cherished grandmother of Daniel, Matthew and Robby; sister-in-law of Ed Heckman (JoAnne) of Florida, and Marlene Heckman; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her cat, Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert A. “Corky” Heckman in 2018; parents, Albert and Bette (nee Beranek) Biro; and brother-in-law, Frank “Buddy” Heckman.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
