Obituary for Alfred "Al" Webber

Funeral Mass for Alfred “Al” Webber, 79, of Willoughby, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2023, at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd., Kirtland. Fr. Dave Woost will officiate. (*Family and friends are asked to meet at the church.)
Al spent his last weeks residing at Kirtland Rehabilitation and Care, where he passed away peacefully Monday, April 17, 2023, under the compassionate care of Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Born April 5, 1944, in Bremerton, Wash., he had been a resident of Lake County for over 40 years.
Al was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Cleveland and The Ohio State University, where he completed the Reserve Officers Training Course (ROTC). He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, serving as a First Lieutenant. He was an avid reader of westerns and mystery novels, loved to watch sports, especially the Buckeyes, and was one of the great Cleveland Indians fans.
Al worked for Ericson Manufacturing Company in Willoughby for over 30 years.
Al was the loving brother of Francis (Carol) Webber of The Villages, Fla.; brother-in-law of Mike Potosky Jr. of Kirtland; uncle of Frank (Dawn) Webber III, Christopher (Bobbi Jo) Webber, Kimberly Webber, Mike (Brenda) Potosky III, Margie (David) Gesell, Mark (Jeanette) Potosky, and Maureen Thorne; and great-uncle to several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Francis and Olive (nee Brown) Webber; and beloved sister, Mary Potosky.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass Monday at Divine Word Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his name be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192, (Attn. David Simpson Hospice House/Veteran).
