Obituary for Edward P Kindler

Funeral Mass for Edward P. Kindler, 80, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mr. Kindler passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at Briar Hill Nursing Facility in Middlefield.
Born Dec. 29, 1939, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for more than 50 years.
Edward was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving at Camp LeJeune in South Carolina, a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor, where he volunteered at the St. Mary’s Summer Festival, and loved Disney. He had enjoyed many trips with his wife to Disney World, and also enjoyed golf, gardening and working in his yard.
Mr. Kindler retired from K-Mart after 15 years, where he had worked as an appliance manager. Following his retirement, he was a self-employed handyman.
Edward was the beloved husband of 54 years to Kathleen (nee Kirby) Kindler; loving father of Mark E. (Kim C., nee Fogarty) Kindler; brother of Patricia (Richard) Patti; brother-in-law of John (Eileen) Kirby, Rose Terese Kirby, Marilyn McFarlin, and Wayne Porter; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret (nee Blakemore) Kindler; brother, Donald Kindler; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Porter; and brother-in-law, Curtis McFarlin.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be private.
