Obituary for William A Major Sr.

William A. Major Sr., 83, of Eastlake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023, in CareCore of Mentor.
Born Sept. 28, 1939, in Painesville, he had been a resident of Lake County for 65 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Eastlake.
William worked as a foreman for Local 310 for more than 50 years. He was a farm boy from Thompson and loved to joyride and sit by the lake with his telescope waiting on a barge. William also enjoyed woodworking and never went a day without his McDonald’s coffee and the newspaper. He lived his life as a “foreman” to all, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Stillisano) Major; loving father of Kathy Ann (Ken) Baxter of Leroy, Donna M. (Robert) Stepanovic of Mentor, and William A. Major Jr. (Suzette Hayes); cherished grandfather of Danielle M. (Ron) Brainard, Kenny M. Baxter Jr., Nichole Brunarski, Katie A. (Michael) Pavlick, Amanda (Kevin) Crockett, Dominic Stepanovic; great-grandfather of six, including Kiya Brainard, Mia Brainard and Harper Pavlik; dear brother of Rose Anne (Albert) Walcutt; brother-in-law of Patti Major; and uncle of eight nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alberta (nee Gibson) Major; and siblings, John Major, Charles Major, Patricia Major and Nicholas Major.
A private burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson Township.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
