Obituary for William "Billy" Balante
William “Billy” Balante, 70, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully Monday, April 8, 2024, at home with his family by his side.
Born July 31, 1953, in Euclid, he had spent the majority of his life in Lake County.
Billy was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving 23 years. He had been involved in South High School, planned high school reunions, was the “Rebel” for South High School, and enjoyed playing Santa. Billy was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1500 in Willoughby, Moose Lodge, Willoughby Lions Club, and Palmer-Roberts American Legion Post 214 in Willoughby. He was the most generous person and had the biggest heart ever know by anyone.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce (nee Durdel) Balante; loving father of Tony Balante (Lynne Ankrom Holland) of Willoughby Hills; dear brother of Bryan (Sue) Balante of Goodland, Fla., and Theresa Balante (Tommy) of Eastlake; nephew of Bonnie Fierst of Chardon and Wanda Chianeone of Winter Garden, Fla.; and the uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bernadine (nee Craine) Balante; brothers, Wayne Balante, Sam Balante and Dennis Balante Sr.; and former wife, Sue Balante.
Per Billy’s wishes there will be no visitation or service observed.
