Obituary for Victor J Matteucci II

Funeral Mass for Victor J. Matteucci II, 45, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.
Vic passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, at his residence.
Born May 14, 1977, in Cleveland, he had lived in Chicago for 10 years before moving back to Mentor.
Vic was a graduate of Lake Catholic High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He earned a communications degree from John Carroll University.
His career in medical sales began in the Chicago area and then moved to the Cleveland area. In those years, he sold various types of medical hardware and equipment. He was fortunate to be Salesman of the Year several times.
While in Chicago, Vic learned 16” softball with no gloves. When he moved back to Mentor, he enjoyed golf, softball and had played basketball in various gyms in the area. His main interest was always family. He loved not only his daughter, but his three nephews and niece. It would not be uncommon for him to take the three older ones to the amusement parks or downtown to Disney themed plays. He and his daughter always made it a point to visit the beaches of Naples, Fla., at spring break.
Vic was the beloved husband of Amanda Lee (nee Kozak) Matteucci; loving father of Addison Lane Matteucci and a “little one-on-the-way;” dear son of Victor W. and Mary Kay (nee Whelan) Matteucci; cherished brother of Anthony M. (Debra) Matteucci, Christopher J. Matteucci and Matthew P. (Erin) Matteucci; and uncle of Dominic, Madelyn, Vinny and Franky.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made by check to Heroes Helping Those With Special Needs, 6235 Parkwood Road, Mentor, OH 44060 or via PayPal to HEROESHELPING.
