Obituary for Thomas Raymond Hanratty
Funeral Mass for Thomas Raymond Hanratty, 92, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at Ss. Robert & William Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid.
Thomas passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Dec. 21, 1930, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 34 years.
He loved animals, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame. Thomas was a gifted artist, who loved to draw, build model airplanes and ships, and so much more. He was also a skilled athlete in bowling, softball and football, and loved to share memorabilia. Thomas was proud of his Irish Heritage and to be from St. Aloysius.
Thomas was the loving father of Dianne M. Lindsay (Tom Yankush), Thomas P. Hanratty, Linda A. Hanratty and Valerie M. (Timothy Arthur) Vento; cherished grandfather of Bryan (Emily) and Scott (Jennifer) Lindsay; great-grandfather of Jackson, Ella, Nora, Grant Thomas, and Samuel; and uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita R. (nee Vento); parents, Felix Francis and Helene Mary (nee Hanratty) Hanratty; and siblings, James, Eileen, William, Jack and Jerry.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland.
