Funeral Mass for Thomas S. Bannan, 67, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday June 17, 2023, at St. John Vianney Church, 7676 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Alex Clark will officiate.
Thomas passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Mentor Ridge Health & Rehab in Mentor.
He was born May 30, 1956, in Dearborn, Mich.
Thomas enjoyed golfing and spending time with his longtime friends and high school buddies.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Mary Anne (nee Sweeney) Bannan; loving father of Sean Joseph Bannan (Katrina Spohn), and Erin Anne (Chad) Fischbach; cherished grandfather of Cassidy Teagan and Jack Alan; “Pop Pop” to Erica, Scarlett and Emerson; brother of William (Peggy) Bannan, John (Robbie) Bannan, and Colleen (Nick) D’Angelo; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Joan B. (nee Gilligan) Bannan.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2023, at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be held at a later date.
