Obituary for Terry Michael Gellner

Terry Michael Gellner, 64, of Willoughby, passed away Dec. 12, 2020, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born May 26, 1956, in Akron.
Terry was proud to be an Eagle Scout. He graduated from North High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron in 1979, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
As a Civil Engineer, Terry dedicated his career to improving water quality, working as a wastewater consulting engineer. He started his own consulting firm, TnT Engineering, LLC, in 2013. He had been involved with the design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities in Ohio and other states across the country. He was a leader across the nation in the development and/or sharing of MBR technology in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York. Terry had authored many technical papers and/or presentations for both water and wastewater. He has presented many topics at state and national conferences.
Terry rarely missed spending time in the summer at the family cottage on Georgian Bay at Pointe-Au-Baril, Ontario, Canada. Family time, boating, fishing, swimming and relaxing provided many special memories. Terry also enjoyed cooking and would frequently host cookouts, holiday and game day meals for friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Joanne.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Susan) of Mentor, and David of Willoughby; brothers, Jim (Beth) of Stow, and Ned (Gayle) of Waterford, N.Y.; grandchildren, Isaac, Emilia, Annabelle, Phillip, and Benjamin; nephews and a niece; and Donna Manos, his closest friend and companion. Terry also left behind many dear friends and was passionate about helping others.Terry was stubborn, loved deeply and fought courageously.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date and safer time.
