Obituary for Susan Christine Peters
Susan Christine Peters, 71, of Wickliffe, passed away Aug. 22, 2023.
She was born Nov. 6, 1951, in Cleveland, to the late Jerry and Margaret (nee Pisarchick) Peters.
Susan, known to her loved ones as “Sue,” will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her sister, Diane (Bernard) Yun; niece, Elise Yun (Jack Nelson); nephew, Michael Yun; and extended family members.
Sue was involved in her community. She had a special fondness for activities and events related to politics, environmental sustainability, and especially related to dog rescue. Even after suffering a stroke that limited her physical participation, Sue continued to support these organizations through financial contributions that were close to her heart.
Sue dedicated 30+ years of her life to the Cleveland Public School system, where she served as a teacher. Also, she taught at the St. Charles Mission in Pryor, Mont. Her passion for education and nurturing young minds made a lasting impact on countless students.
Outside of her career, Sue enjoyed watching Cleveland Sports and was involved with various hobbies, including dog walking, dog training, swimming, and socializing with friends in the Continental Ski Club. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to connect with others who shared her interests.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at St. Noel Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills.
