Obituary for Sandy Lee Fruscella

Sandy Lee Fruscella, 69, passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, of newly diagnosed cancer of the liver. His wife, Debbie and his children, Jennifer and Jason were by his side, along with his twin-sister, Sandra and other dear family members and loved ones.
Sandy was born Nov. 6, 1952, to Joseph and Georgean Fruscella in the house that he lived and passed away in.
Sandy went to John Carroll University and graduated with a business degree. He worked in the restaurant business and his passion was cooking. Sandy loved to cook large meals for his family, and host family get-togethers, where everybody enjoyed his delicious recipes and meals.
Mr. Fruscella retired from Progressive Insurance after 19 years and enjoyed retirement in his home with his wife, Debbie. He enjoyed home projects, bird watching and walking his dog, Jack, around the neighborhood. Sandy was always helping and giving to his family and neighbors, and everybody who me him loved him. He loved to talk to everybody and had a large group of people who loved him in his community.
Sandy was a devoted husband and wonderful father, who took care of his family. Sandy was a beloved uncle to many. He was a good man, kind and caring to all. Sandy treated all people he met the same. There will never be another man like him. Before he passed, he wanted everybody to know that he had lived a good and happy life. He will be dearly missed.
Sandy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Georgean Fruscella; brothers, Donald and Benton Fruscella; and brother-in-law, Mike Loparo.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Fruscella; children, Jason and Jennifer Fruscella; grandchildren, Violet, Lily and Evelyn Fruscella; twin-sister, Sandra (Marty) Gullatta; sister, Sue Loparo; brother, Ray (Sandy) Fruscella; and many other family members.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, with a Celebration of Life at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Mike Currier will officiate the service. Burial will be private.
