Sandra A. (nee Omerza) Bennett, 65, of Painesville, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at University Hospital in Cleveland, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Aug. 16, 1955, in Cleveland, she had been a lifetime resident of Lake County, living in Willowick before moving to Painesville.
Sandra was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Painesville and enjoyed quality time with her grandchildren. She also loved taking trips to Disney.
She was the loving mother of Tracy C. Duemling (Erika Oblak), Victoria L. Thompson and Kimberly M. (Michael) Wright; cherished grandmother of Richard, Matthew, Rachel, Abigail, Joseph and Bennett; sister of Jackie R. (Dale) Frey, and Edward F. (Sandy) Omerza; and several nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as “Auntie Kooks.”
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael J. Bennett in 2015; and parents, Edward and Eleanore (nee Schroeder) Omerza.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, where a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be private.
