Obituary for Ruth M Boudreau

Ruth M. (nee Stevenson) Boudreau, 98, of Timberlake, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at her daughter’s residence in Timberlake.
Born Feb. 18, 1925, in Somerville Mass., she moved to East Cleveland, in the early 1950s, where she lived for many years before becoming a Lake County resident, living first in Willowick and then in Timberlake.
Ruth was a parishioner of St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake and a member of the One Wellness Fitness Center well into her 90s. Ruth was best known for her positivity and the impact it had on those around her. A sweet and gentle soul, she loved people and remained social throughout her life. One of her favorite activities was dining out with her family and indulging in desserts and a good cocktail. She was very active, even into her 90’s, walking throughout her neighborhood and exercising with her personal trainer.
Ruth believed in the power of education and in instilled its value in her children and students. As a young mother, she founded a co-op preschool. Later in life, she attended college and graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught and tutored children with learning disabilities in local school districts and had a profound impact on all the lives that she touched. Ruth also obtained her real estate license, and worked for Century 21 selling homes for many years.
She was a history buff, and was a wealth of knowledge about World War II. She grew up in Boston, and remained grounded in her roots….a true Bostonian, despite the fact that she lived much of her life in Cleveland. Ruth also embraced new things, enjoying her cellphone, and using her computer to make greeting cards for family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve for their compassion and loving care given during this difficult time.
Ruth was the loving mother of Jeannette M. Boudreau, June M. (Robert) Print and Chet W. Boudreau; cherished grandmother of Aaron (Aimeé) Edell, Ethan Edell, Shane Print (fiancée, Melissa Czyz), Joshua Print, and Jessica Boudreau; great-grandmother of Bruce Edell and Beatrice Edell;sister of Harold Stevenson and William Stevenson; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth R. Boudreau in 2002; and parents, Harold M. and Jeannette M. (nee McGinn) Stevenson.
