Obituary for Rosemary J Schneithorst
Rosemary J. (nee Cowman) Schneithorst, 98, of Willoughby, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, at The Preserve Senior Living at Mentor Ridge in Mentor.
Born March 18, 1924, in Chesaning, Mich., she had been a resident of Lake County for more than 70 years.
Rosemary was a member of V.F.W. Post 1500 Ladies Auxiliary and the Willoughby Senior Center. She had also volunteered for many years at Heartland of Mentor and was honored as “Volunteer of the Year.” She loved playing Bridge, golf, bowling and bocce ball.
She was the loving mother of Michael G. (Cathy) Schneithorst, Steven J. Colby and Timothy E. (Barrie) Schneithorst; cherished grandmother of Curt, Cyndi, Marin, Benjamin, Anelia and Alex; and great-grandmother of Kayla, Matthew, Allison, Crystal, Jared, Erik, Kristen and Ian. She was blessed to also have great-great-grandchildren.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo Schneithorst; daughter, Mary E. Ferguson; grandson, Joshua Schneithorst; and parents, James E. and Florence E. (nee Martin) Cowman.
Private family services were held.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name be made to AllGodsChildren.org or the Immaculate Conception Parish Endowment Fund.
