Obituary for Rosemary M "Mert" Lewis
Funeral Mass for Rosemary M. “Mert” (nee Myers) Lewis, 87, of Austintown, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mert passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Maple Ridge Senior Living in Willoughby.
Born Nov. 27, 1934, in Willoughby, she had lived there before moving to Austintown 30 years ago.
Mert was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Austintown and Sebring Country Club. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Mert was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.
She was the dear sister-in-law of Phyllis Myers and Robert A. Beller; and the cherished aunt of many.
Mert was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward F. Lewis; parents, Theodore and Rose (nee Gerdeman) Myers; and siblings, Ted (Betty, dec.) Myers, Jimmy Myers, Eleanor “Sis” (Nick, dec.) Valentino, Don (Terry, dec.) Myers, Robert Myers, Ralph Myers and Kathryn Ann Beller.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby. Burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Maple Ridge Senior Living, 35300 Kaiser Court, Willoughby, OH 44094.
