Obituary for Ronald M Johnson
Ronald M. Johnson, 67, of Wickliffe, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at his home.
Born April 19, 1956, in Cleveland, he raised his daughter in Eastlake before moving to Willowick, and then Wickliffe in 2022.
Ron was a devoted father and grandfather, who coached his daughters’ softball teams in Willowick in the 1990s. He could always be found at any of his grandchildren’s events throughout Lake County. Throughout the years, Ron was an avid sportsman, who love to spend time alone, either hunting or fishing. He was also very active in softball, golf, bowling, bocce and cornhole leagues in the area. Before his retirement in 2017, Ron worked as a machinist at several different area manufacturing companies.
Survivors are his daughters, Shannon (Christopher) Branthoover, Nicole (Geary) Lutz, and Beth (Michael) Walbeck; cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Elyse Branthoover, Cameron Martin-Lutz, Caleb, Emma and Elijah Lutz, Owen and Liam Walbeck, and bonus grandson, Logan Daugherty; mother, Lucille Johnson; siblings, Jeffrey Johnson, Tamara (Louis) Formica, Mark (Melissa) Johnson, Debra Beal and Carl Johnson (Ben Hass); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald H. Johnson; brother-in-law, Randy Beal; and granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Lutz.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Erieside Church, 221 E. 320th St., Willowick, with a Celebration of Life Service at 12 p.m. His son-in-law, Geary Lutz will officiate. Burial will be private.
