Richard A. Bevington, 76, of Mentor, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon.
He was born March 16, 1947, in Painesville.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Wildwood Acres Campground in Andover and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2300 in Willoughby. He enjoyed gardening, camping and golf.
He was the loving father of Karen J. Griffiths (Keith Doughty) and Richard A. Bevington Jr. (Dawn Childs); cherished grandfather of Shawn Griffiths and Justin Bevington; sister-in-law, Sharon Bevington; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Sue (nee Newman) Bevington; son-in-law, Darrell Griffiths; grandson, Charles Griffiths; parents, Alfred and Muriel (nee Hargreaves) Bevington; and siblings, Peter Bevington and George Bevington.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
