Obituary for Reta Fern Potter

Reta Fern (nee Goins) Potter, 88, of Mentor, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Embassy of Painesville.
Born May 10, 1934, in Pennington Gap, Va., she had been a resident of Lake County for 66 years.
Reta was a member of Country Baptist Church in Mentor and the Mentor Senior Center. She enjoyed bowling, reading, crocheting and playing scrabble.
The family would like to express special thanks to Doug, Sara, Chaplin Charles, also M & M and Bernadette from Traditions Health Hospice for their kindness and care given to Reta.
She was the loving mother of H. Steven (Darlene) Potter and Phil R. (Cheryl) Potter; cherished grandmother of Dana D. Hrusovsky, Stephanie M. Potter, and Phil R. Potter Jr.; great-grandmother of Rylie Hrusovsky; sister of Clarence Goins, Shirley Orr, Brenda Owenby, Danny Goins and Charles Goins; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Reta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John David Potter in 1985; parents, Samuel H. and Flossie (nee Poteet) Goins; siblings, Alice Goins, Kathy Goins, Geneva Allen and Jack Goins; and sister-in-law, Dovie Goins.
Family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor, with a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Mentor Cemetery.
